Carmen has more than 28 years of experience in payments, marketing and management consulting. She is Country Manager of Spain at Visa. Carmen has an extensive career at Visa where she managed mid size accounts in the UK, based in UK, led Santander Global Account and set up Consulting operations in Portugal. Prior to that role, she led card business marketing for Santander in Spain and previously worked at MasterCard as marketing manager for Spain and Portugal. She came to that from a role at ServiRed as Director of Fraud and Risk among others. Earlier in her career, Ms. Alonso was responsible for the American Express account at Ogilvy and Mather in Madrid.
Carmen has been member of the board at Bansamex (joint venture Santander-American Express) and Diners Club International franchise in Spain.
Carmen graduated from the University Complutense de Madrid in Marketing and Public Relations and has a Executive MBA (2017) at IESE University of Navarra in Spain. She also has a Financial Marketing course at London City of Polytechnic University and 2 years of economics at National University Distance Education in Spain. She is member of the board of alumni at IESE in Madrid.
Carmen is supporting Ellevate (Women Leadership) in Spain and collaborates with social causes in her country. Carmen has three children of 18, 16 and 14 years old.
